In tribute to the Oscars here is a list of the top 10 vegan celebrities in Hollywood. Some may be actors, some may not, but they all share their dedication to veganism (is that even a word?)

1. Natalie Portman - This 27 year old designed her own line of vegan shoes for Te Casan!

2. Casey Afflick - Little bro to Ben. This 32 year old is involved with Farm Sanctuary, an animal protection organization which rescues animals from slaughterhouses and factory farms, and educated the public about being vegan.

3. Joaquin Phoenix -Phoenix, 33, won’t eat any animal or wear them: on the set of Gladiator, he requested that his outfits were constructed of fake leather.

4. Prince -He was named World’s Sexiest Vegetarian in PETA’s annual online poll. Wonder who the other nominees were?

5. Chris Martin - lead singer of ColdPlay and married to the beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow. He and the little missus threw a vegan birthday party for daughter Apple when she turned one-year-old in 2005. Her birthday cake was a vegan cheesecake topped with raspberry puree in the shape of an apple courtesy of Moby’s restaurant, Teany.

6. Pam Anderson - This 42 year old mother of 2 credits her famous fit physique to a diet filled with veggies. I wonder where plastic fits into her beliefs?

7. Tobey Maguire - apparently Tobey’s the one responsible for getting Natalie Portman to turn over a vegan leaf in her diet.

8. Russell Simmons -He’s a rap mogul who co-founded Def Jam records, and an entrepreneur. Simmons is very active with PETA, and contributed to the PETA Celebrity Cookbook (his recipe: Mama’s “Mock” Meatloaf).

9. Alicia Silverstone -She’s been a vegan for 10 years, and has attributed being a vegan with helping her to lose weight, having her skin clear up and making her eyes brighter.

10. Moby -Moby is decades-long vegan (he’s going on 21 years, though confesses to a “slight relapse in 1992″ when he had some yogurt).
